Hey all. Hope you’re having a better Saturday than I am — I’m stuck at work. Today’s prompt is based off artwork, and I went a little different with my art piece. Rather than picking one by an actual artist, I chose one of my own.
A couple weeks ago, I went to a “Sip ‘n Stroke” class — pretty much someone in the community hosts a painting “class” for an easy piece while you drink wine and paint. It was a lot of fun and I actually like the painting I ended up with.
For this, I used Essie Licorice, Brooch the Subject, and Play Date. I was sad to see this design go! It was actually quite simple: a three-color gradient and stripes for the trees. It’s hard to see in the picture below, but there is a pink strip in the painting that I think it supposed to represent a sunrise/sunset reflecting in fog. At least, that’s how I see it. I don’t own a soft pink that’s opaque enough to sponge with these other colors, so I went with a lavender, and I really love the change.
What do you think? That picture is the first (and only, so far) painting I’ve ever done. I was surprised to see how nail art translated, so it’s interesting for me. Hope you have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow!
