Glitter Placement — while I had the patience to do it

Hey guys! Hope your week is going well. Over the past few weeks, missbellatracey has rocked out some awesome glitter placement manicures on Instagram. Usually, I leave this up to the pros (*cough cough* Polish All the Nails), but after seeing so many of Tracey’s gorgeous designs, I had to do something.

OPI The Living DaylightsI started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff, then scooped out some teal and orange glitter pieces from The Living Daylights. (I love this glitter so much, I snatched up a second bottle from a blog sale a few months ago, and I still have most of my original bottle left!) I knew I wasn’t going to get the pieces perfectly lined up, so I aimed for straight lines and had fun.

I love how this turned out. The glitter has a metallic finish, so my nails flash in the light every time they move. I’ve definitely had a few comments asking if they were nail stickers — everyone told me I had the patience of a saint! (I don’t. I was just watching The Voice and had some time to kill.) It didn’t take that long; the process is more tedious than difficult. My entire manicure was done in the two hours the show aired, which is a typical amount of time I would spend on something freehand or taped.
